Connecting Interactive Brokers with Flex
IBKR needs a read-only Flex Web Service token and the Query ID of an XML Activity Flex Query.
Step 1. In IBKR Client Portal, open Settings → Account Settings → Flex Web Service, enable the service and generate a token. The token is for reading reports; if it expires or is revoked, the connection has to be updated with a new token.
Step 2. Open Performance & Reports → Flex Queries and create an Activity Flex Query. Include the Trades, Cash Transactions, Open Positions and Net Asset Value sections. Set the period to Last 365 Days and the format to XML, save the query and copy its Query ID.
Step 3. In the wizard, choose Interactive Brokers, paste the Flex token and Query ID, then click “Next”. On the first step PnL Plus validates the report and reads the account, currency and period from it. On the second step the wizard shows the detected account; after confirmation the service loads the history and builds analytics.
History caveat. A Flex Query usually exposes a window of about 365 days for the selected report. Earlier history may not be available through this wizard, so the first IBKR load is limited to what the Flex report returns.
IBKR updates once daily at end of day. That is the frequency of the available Flex report, not intraday NAV monitoring.
