Connecting MT4/MT5
To connect an account, you need the broker server, account number, password and the selected MetaTrader 4 or MetaTrader 5 platform.
What to prepare. The wizard asks for four things: MT4 or MT5 platform, account number, password and the exact broker server name. A read-only investor password is usually enough to read history: it cannot place trades or withdraw funds.
Step 1. Choose MetaTrader 4 or MetaTrader 5. Step 2. Enter the account number in the “Account number” field. Step 3. Enter the investor password in the “Investor password (read-only)” field. Step 4. Enter the broker server exactly as shown in the MT4/MT5 terminal; autocomplete helps with known variants, but the name still has to match.
After you click “Connect account”, PnL Plus creates a probationary connection, contacts the broker server, loads trade history and builds analytics. If everything finishes quickly, the wizard opens the account dashboard. If verification or the first sync takes longer than usual, the connection continues in the background and the result is sent by email.
Common failure causes: the server name differs from the terminal; the trading password was entered instead of the investor password, or the investor password changed; the broker server is temporarily offline. If the terminal itself cannot connect to that server, the wizard cannot fetch data either.
