Max simultaneous positions

Shows how many positions were open at the same time at the account's busiest moment.

Max simultaneous positions is the peak number of open positions at one moment, not the total number of trades for the day. Think of it as the busiest point on a desk: how many tickets were active at once.

It helps read attention load and risk concentration. Ten closed trades spread through the day can be simple, while ten positions open at the same time can mean very different pressure.

One to three simultaneous positions often looks focused, five to ten is already active, and higher numbers usually need context from lots, symbols and account size. The number is not automatically good or bad. A common mistake is to ignore that many tiny positions can carry less risk than a few large ones.

Example: at 10:00 the account has EURUSD, GBPUSD and XAUUSD open, so the count is 3. Before any of them closes, four more positions are opened, so the peak becomes 7. Even if 20 trades close that day, this metric reports the busiest overlap: 7.

How we compute it

We count open trade intervals with a time-based sweep-line over open and close times. Exposure calculations nearby use the same idea of maximum concurrent load, but by lots and symbols.
